Default Questions about Nitric Oxide and Terrestis Tribulus

The bottom line: are these snake oil supplements? I almost forked $45
for a bottle of NO today and thought that perhaps I ought to do some
more research before spending the cash.

Now, I know some guys at my gym who work out regularly and they swear
by NO. So it's really hard to know what to believe.

I did however, spend about $15 for a bottle of the Vitamin Shoppe
brand of the Terrestis Tribulus, but regretted it after I got home (I
had already opened the bottle so it was too late to return). So what
about the Tribulus? Is it a similar snake oil supplement?

I know that many of these supps do work, but only in very controlled
situations, which are impossible to replicate in normal day-to-day
life.

So what's the deal on NO and Terrestis Tribulus? Has anyone here taken
them and experienced at least a partial response that would justify
continuing to take them? These supps ain't cheap.

NO is just arginine, an amino acid that is present in a lot of the food
you eat. There is no reason to supplement it if you have a normal diet.
Take a look closely at what is in most of the NO supplements. Caffeine, B
vitamins, taurine, etc. Sound familiar? They're the ingredients in Red
Bull and most other energy drinks. This would explain why many simple
minded idiots swear by the product. Energy drinks make you perform better
at the gym.

Tribulus is crap, plain and simple. It doesn't do anything. If you want to
raise hormone levels the legal way try supplementing DHEA.

And arginine is not something that ever gave me a noticeable boost
despite some high gram ingestion back in the day. The whole arginine
and ornithine craze that was in the magazines in the early 90s.
Everything old is new again? Regardless, as a huge fan of placebo and
nostalgia plus a poor sense of sensible spending, I've purchased
MuscleTech's naNOX9.

YES, EVEN AGAINST MY BETTER JUDGEMENT! Or, uh, lack thereof.

Pretty effective at separating some people from their cash, however.

Btdt. Never had any blood work done before and after DHEA, but also
didn't notice a big bang either.

Saaaaay, is there any, oh, PubMeddy-like info out there re DHEA's
worth? Rhetorical. I can Google if I ever really want to know.

Bet it gave you a woody, though.

Admit it...that's why you took it

DHEA supplementation is useful for us over 40 types as part of a hormone
replacement program, but not for any acute androgenic anabolic reason.
