My gym only has up 50 kg (110+ lbs) dumbbells which I also find far
too light for warm-up exercises, so I have started lifting and
throwing people about for my warm-up routine instead.
It doesn't necessarily make one particularly popular but the job has
to be done. I find the spontaneous dynamics of the warm-up exercises
are the perfect preparation for my 3 x 10 sets of one-arm pull-ups, 3
x 10 one-arm handstand press-ups, 3 x 10 x 3 x bodyweight bench press,
3 x 10 x 3.5 x bodyweight squats and 3 x 10 x 4 x bodyweight
deadlifts.
I have reduced the rest period to almost nothing and my schedule is
now more of a circuit than a traditional weight training workout. My
pulse rarely goes above 65 bpm and my gains are quite outstanding!
Feel free to try it old chap and let me know how you get on! ;o)
HTH!
