I would bet that Clark wishes he had the same respect McCain has.

Interesting how someone with that kind of record could become such a
little chickenshit in civilian life.

What is even more interesting is how he can be critical of McCain
while supporting Obama on points where Obama comes far short of
McCain's experience and qualifications. He is critical of McCain for
not having major military command experience while Obama has NO
military experience. He is critical of McCain because he has never
supposedly been in an executive position such as govenor but then
neither has Obama. He is critical of McCain on foreign policy
experience when Obama has zero foreign policy experience.

He is a person who will do what is expedient. In his rise through the ranks
he probably owes more to that "quality" than his sterling academic
credentials. He is basically a smart little deviant. He is no doubt angling
for a high command of some sort if Obama wins.

Good point..
Four years ago, Wesley thought that John Kerry's 4 months in Vietnam
was his greatest asset and more than enough to give him executive
ability. Somehow, now he thinks that McCain's 20 plus years isn't
enough to overcome Obama's extremely limited "experience." No wonder
Obama rejected Wes's remarks. It's almost like Wesley was campaining
*against* him.

The Clark quote I heard simply made the point that an aviator in the
military is not someone who makes executive level decisions. I never
heard him pad Obama's resume. He simply pointed out that for all the
publicity surrounding McCain's service, the public should be aware
that while it may be honorable, it wasn't command level experience.
IOW, neither has any real experience at this so it's a wash. No big
deal, neither did Bush, Clinton, Regan etc.

Of course the idiots on Faux News make it sound like Clark pissed on
McCain's head. And their lapdogs eat the shit up...

I didn't say he padded Obama's resume, he simply ignored the lack of a
resume.

"Military experience" is not necessary for the job.
Leadership is.
McCain has always been a follower; never a leader.

Of course not. Would you expect Newt Gingrich to come out swinging
for McCain's head?

Clark has a horse in this race. He simply demonstrated why there is no
reason to believe that the competition has a better pedigree. Nothing
below the belt there.

Maybe, maybe not. But that would be the intellegent way to frame the
debate instead of all the Faux News blubbering that someone didn't
properly fawn all over their candidate.

Commanding Officer.

Hardly a follower.

Maybe, maybe not.

*****

no 'maybe' about it. It is a command, he was the commanding office of that
command, and thus the leader of the men in that command.

*******

But that would be the intellegent way to frame the
debate instead of all the Faux News blubbering that someone didn't
properly fawn all over their candidate.

****answer****

Really? Being a squadron commander isn't "command level experience"?????

Since when?

McCain was CO, which is sort for COMMANDING OFFICER, of a squadron. How
exactly does a COMMANDING OFFICER have no command level experience?

"The commanding officer (CO) is the officer in command of a military unit.
Typically, the commanding officer has ultimate authority over the unit, and
is usually given wide latitude to run the unit as he sees fit, within the
bounds of military law. In this respect, commanding officers have
significant responsibilities (for example, the use of force, finances,
equipment, the Geneva Conventions), duties (to higher authority, mission
effectiveness, duty of care to personnel) and powers (for example,
discipline and punishment of personnel within certain limits of military
law)."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commanding_officer

So to the facts:

McCain has military command level experience
Obama does not

Does it matter? Depends if you feel that military command experience is
necessary in a time of international conflict.

And OBAMA is a leader....of what? Get your facts straight, when it
comes to leadership, McCain has far more experience than Obama.

Wesley Clark acted like the pompous ass he always appeared to be back
when he was bombing Serbia.

Nice work. If only more conservatives could think as clearly and make
accurate and verifiable points as concisely without resorting to
acting like a brat in a 6th grade locker room, discussing adult
matters would be a far more interesting and useful endeavor.

Heh. That certainly cuts both ways. For example, there is a community
radio station (KVMR-FM) near where I live that is blatantly liberal. I
like to listen to them on the way to work and hear the "commentators"
they air in the 7:30 to 8:00 segment. It is not at all uncommon to
hear a couple or three occasions of childish name calling. Today was no
different except that all three were in reference to Rush Limbaugh and
the compensation aspect of his latest contract. I honestly cannot recall
more pure examples of sour grapes!
