How many calories do you eat per day? Include snacks, alcohol, co-workers'
candy dishes, Starbucks, etc. Also describe, in detail, your exercise
routine.

lets see, 45 to 60 minutes of vigorous cardio per session and 30
minutes of strength training. no candy, no Starbucks, but i do drink
coffee with splenda fruits and whole whear crackers with a little
cheese for a snack, water, lots of water, I don't drink alcahol except
for special occasions. dry toast for breakfast, with cereal and low
fat milk, salad for lunch, sometimes with a little chiken, dinner is
healthy,home made beef stew, chili,etc....jenius

Intensity is everything.

Evasion noted. You really have no idea how many calories you're consuming.

I remember when I used to eat like that. Thank God I no longer do. Fat
doesn't kill; carbohydrates do.

Then what "diet" do you follow? Because every MD that's not laughed at by
the medical community spews the benefits of complex carbs. Whole grains,
fruits, etc.

A waste of time.

Too little, and probably at bullshit effort after flailing about on
some contraption doing 'cardio'

And a crap nutritional profile to boot.

Nothing wrong with them, as such.

But there a lot wrog with idiots who think "eat mainly complex carbs"
means "stuff yourself full of them to the exclusion of all else at
every meal and every opportunity" and not the "take your carbs from
complex sources" which it does mean!

Just for reference, exactly how many do you consume each day?

I have no idea. It varies. I would have to keep track of it for a week or
so to answer the question. Unlike jenius, I'm not claiming to have a
miracle metabolism. BBC Frontline did a show a few years back featuring
fat people who claimed to be light eaters. They were put in a metabolic
ward and fed only the amount of calories they claimed to eat. Every single
one of them lost weight. Go figure!

Of course you don't know because as usual you are talking out of your
ass.

The only miracle around here is the miracle of how you can function
with so little chemical activity within your brain.

Cite please? You do know that calories from carbs and sugars behave
differently in the body than say calories derived from things like
protiens, don't you? It's usually not so much a matter of how much you
eat as what you eat that causes wieght gain or loss.

I believe this is the TV show that has been referenced in various
newsgroups over the past few years.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/horizon...erstrans.shtml

GLENDA BAILEY: Yeah, I definitely think I was born differently. Why is it
that I can sit down and eat a meal exactly the same as everybody else, yet
I put on weight. I can go on a diet, I can really, really try, but it
doesn't do any good. I'm sure that I've got a slow metabolic rate.

NARRATOR: This one night of isolation is all it would take to answer her
question once and for all. Overnight the oxygen Glenda breathed in was
constantly measured. This enabled them to gauge how many calories her body
had burnt. The room was kept at a comfortable temperature so she didn't
burn extra energy by shivering and sweating. The measurements were then
used to precisely work out Glenda's metabolic rate. In the morning Glenda
was given the result, but the answer was a total surprise. Like all large
people, Glenda's metabolic rate isn't slow, it's fast.

GLENDA BAILEY: I always imagined my weight was because I'd got a very, a
low metabolism and that's why I couldn't lose weight, but basically it's
'cos of the food I've been eating.

SUSAN JEBB: That's right. It's one of the great myths of dieting. The
number of people who've been in and said to their doctor: doctor, I've got
a slow metabolism is absolutely in the thousands if not millions. We have
compared energy expenditure in lean and overweight people. We've looked at
siblings, we've looked at parents and children in an attempt to find some
evidence of a real difference in energy expenditure between people who
remain slim and those who had a tendency to gain weight. What is very clear
from all the research is that overweight people actually burn off more
energy than slim people. The reason for that is quite simply that bigger
people have more cells, they have bigger hearts, bigger lungs, bigger
livers. All of these vital organs need energy just to keep ticking over.
