Stop fretting and experience the joy of sport farting. Rip ones so
loud that your fellow grocery store shoppers will freeze in their
tracks at 50 paces. Then laugh. It will take only a modest
amount of practice to learn control and you can actually control the
volume. Sport farting and
depositing massive stools are probably the only true religious
experiences.

Has sport farting qualified yet as an Olympic sport? If it isn't, I'd guess
that the high
risk associated with a competitive sport fart turning into a massive stool
deposit might qualify Sport Farting for the X-Games. |

I doubt this is serious but just in case it is...
Stop eating wheat.
5% of the American population has wheat intolerance.
Learn to eat low carb.

As long as he's into self diagnosis, which he seems to be at this point, he
could try snails, cat food, tree bark, moss or any of a thousand items on a
health food store shelf. OTOH, I've heard it said that many symptoms of
physical ailments can be brought on by psychosomatic causes rather than by
physical ones. Perhaps it's time for a psychiatric consult.....if all else
has failed, it might be worth a try.

Not so fast George. Too many doctors push off "Irritable bowel syndrome"
on psychosomatic causes. Truth is, stress is a factor, but so are food
allergies. (weight lifting is excellent for stress as you know).
The best advice I EVER got from a family doc on digestive problems was
to do somewhat of an elimination diet.
Log EVERYTHING you eat for awhile. Every day, then also log how you
felt. Other than doing an "elimination diet" (which is actually a bit
faster), it's the most effective way to track down food allergies. Looks
like he's already somewhat tried that route too.
I was trying to lose weight at that same point anyway so I weighed,
measured and wrote down not only what I ate, but the amount. I then
used food tables at the end of each day to track total calories, grams
of protein, grams of fat, grams of carbs and milligrams of sodium, then
totalled them at the end of the day.
It was honestly one of the most educational things I ever did for
myself. ;-) Not only did I track down foods that made me feel ill, I
also learned one HELLUVA lot about food composition and nutrition in
general.
I still take Tagamet as needed, but I also have a hiatal hernia...
The other bit of advice I got from the doc that was good was to
habitually increase my water intake. Not just "fluids", but good ol' H2O.

Well and good. Please note that I wasn't taking exception to anything said
and that what I offered was merely an additional suggestion or possibility
that came without any guarantees from me. So, if none of your stuff works,
you might want to consider trying a shrink. You don't have to if the
thought offends you or if you doubt its value......I really don't care since
I'm not getting a kickback on anyone's fees.
Again, I'm not a proponent....it was just another suggestion that you can
either take or leave and I could care less in either case.
