When one looks at the current state of the "American Male", the
prognosis for any dramatic action is gloomy. Most are shadows, though
much, much larger shadows, of their ancestors. In spite of going to
the shooting range and posturing with Glocks they are mostly overfed
wimps. Belt buckles proclaim "You can have my guns when you pry them
from my cold dead hands". Bullshiting belt buckle warriors. Some hop
on Harley's as a symbol of whatever. With potbellies, a dew-rag, and
some fat hog as passenger they roar off down the road. But these lads
mostly parrot the usual political correct nonsense about love and
brotherhood. Their slatternly wives and girls friends watch Oprah,
Maury, Montel, and maybe even Jerry Springer! The working class types,
those mostly affected by the illegal alien invasion, remain sulky and
silent. Working class folks have been brain-washed into thinking that
adopting "political correctness" will somehow improve their social
status, hence, their self-image.

You're right. Gun owners are all talk and won't do a damn thing about
the mexican invasion. Of course it's tough to see what can be done.
Elections don't work since both parties have been bought off by the
businesses that make fortunes off the cheap illegal labor. And if you
form a political group to take action against the invading mexicans,
then your group is soon infiltrated by govt agents and you all go to
prison for life.

what you say is true however it goes beyond that. The real problem with American (and English males) is that they are not united.
There is no sense of togetherness or team amongst men so we all feel very much on our own. No-one wants to start shooting illegals
on their own because that's a one way ticket to a very long prison sentence and none of your buddies are going to back you up or
look out for you. United we stand, divided we fall and divided we certainly are. Unfortunately the police and the politicians know
this and use it to plan our fall.

That's a downside for societies that value individual merit and
responsibility.

It's good to acknowledge this relative isolation because that's
also the challenge that develops individual strength and resolve.

People in western societies are loathe to act preemptively
because to do so is alien to the rule of law - 'innocent until
proven guilty'.

Once the 'proof' sets in, once the 'guilt' of government error
is beyond question, once the dangers of foreign incursion are
clearly known, individuals will begin to act spontaneously.

In American history this has happened at least three times;
in 1776 and through the 'revolutionary period'; in 1861
and during the 'civil war'; in 1941 and during WWII.

For Americans the meaning of the 2nd Amendment becomes
clear.

You're wrong. Increasingly downsized or grossly-underemployed - and
running out of home equity to keep borrowing on - they increasingly no
longer are bought off into not doing anything. That's the cost of
sending all the good jobs to Asia and having so many American
ex-husbands paying child support on kids they can't even have the
court-ordered visitation to see.
