Default Slightly OT Running injuries?

I read recently that knee injuries incurred whilst jogging/running is
normal-and doesnt harm your body at all-is this true?
I know the crazy Thai bastards like to kick fuck out of their own
shins in order to strengthen them-is the same true for your knees?
Your humble servant-whitedogshit

Please ask on news:rec.running. Martial arts "hardening" is not the
same thing as getting used to running a lot, IMHO - and the idea that an
"injury" really doesn't harm your body makes no sense to me. If it
really doesn't harm your body, then it's not an injury.

Uh, no. You can do unrepairable harm to your knee and ankle joints
from running with the wrong shoes, too much, etc. Trust me on this.

(aims sarcasmometer at Joe Humble)

Hmmm. Is this thing on? ;o)

Well, given his choice in a posting name, his name calling (Mexicunt
and crazy Thai bastards as two examples), and the content of his
posts, I'd say his goal is to inflame if nothing else. Define troll as
you will, of course.
