Default Sports Training

Cardiovascular work out should consist of a half-hour daily walk.
Simply lace up your quality walking shoes and go for a stroll around
the block. Go out regardless of the weather; just make sure to dress
adequately. An effective alternative to going outside is walking up
and down a building staircase. This option is excellent for your
heart, as well as maintaining leg muscles. To maintain a constant
progression, try to increase your pace on a weekly basis. Set goals
and gradually increase your distances. If possible, alter your
cardiovascular sessions for an even more effective work out: use the
staircase one day, and walk around the block on other days.

Ideally, a person would move to M. C. Escher's neighborhood. That way,
as you stroll around the block you'd be able to choose a route that is
always uphill, for the days you are on top of your game, or a route
that is downhill the whole way, for those times you need a break.

I currently ride my bike on a bike path designed by Escher -- no
matter which way I go the wind is always beating me in the face which
leads to a much better cardiovascular workout.

Hmmm. Walking as specific cardiovascular work for all sports training.

Who'd a thunk it? All those speed skater and sprinters doing intervals
and other hard stuff when they could be walking.
