| | | Strange medical story (courtesy of the wife)
A cow-orker of hers brought up THIS one. He needs to have abdominal
surgery to cauterize parts of his rectum because of the strains of
weight lifting and other high-intensity, high-body-stress sports. He's
also been told "it's a common occurrence" in athletes, especially weight
lifters.
I've never heard of it, legendary or otherwise; the only way I can see
that happening is valsalva, and that's a stretch of the imagination.
Any insights?
