A couple of months ago I picked Bronkaid up in the aisle next to
toothpaste at the local Kroger. Last week I went to a Kroger and two
CVS's -- they were all out. And, had they had it it would have behind
he pharmacy counter. I was told the CVS warehouse was out.
I finally found some at another pharmacy. Behind the counter. When I
bought it the pharmacist asked for my license and recorded a bunch of
the info on it. Just to keep track of how much I'm buying.

I recently ordered 120 capsules from drugstore.com and a couple
of days later I got an email saying they were cancelling it. The
email said they couldn't get it from the manufacturer. You can
still order it on the website, if you're willing to wait 4-6
weeks, but they will still cancel the order. (?)
No one in my state of Oregon is even allowed to sell it; if they
could get it.

I think most pharmacies have been intimidated into not carrying it.
And ephedrine, in general, is a Schedule V controlled substance, so
that's how the pharmacy was treating it. However, Bronkaid tablets
are specifically exempted by name from Schedule V classification.
Still, if you had argued about it, they probably wouldn't have sold it
to you, so you might as well grin and bear it.
Please note that drugstore.com will ship to Ohio if you want to order
from them, and their prices are pretty decent.
You'll also find that pseudoephedrine is now behind the counter.
Under the new law, they *are* required to establish proof of age and
record purchases of pseudoephedrine. |

Nope, you can still get it but I'm not telling you where.
Maybe I will after I reorder. LOL

If Oregon statute bans the sale, then they won't send it. I haven't
reviewed Oregon law, so I don't know the current status.
You're correct about the wait, though. I intended to place an order
today, and most places are back-ordered on the packages of 60.
Fortunately, it appears that http://www.medichest.com has packages of
24 in stock, and I ordered 5 for only $35.45, which is still pretty
cheap compared to what you get elsewhere.
The weird thing is that drugstore.com states that Bronkaid contains
pseudoephedrine. It doesn't. It contains ephedrine sulfate, which is
definitely not the same. |

I talked to them via email and they only said that they couldn't
get it from the manufacturer; nothing about me being in Oregon.

Yes, I noticed that. |

John,
I bought some Primatene tabs the other day here in AZ and they did the
whole ID check with me too. These are 12.5 mg Ephedrine and 200 mg
Guaifenessin. I take them as they legitimately help my Asthma when I work
out. I take Guaifenessin normally, so this accounts for about 1/4 of my
daily intake of it.

Doe Primatene provide the same 'benefit' Bronkaid does? I thought I
remembered discussion about pseudoephedrine being less preferred over
ephedrine sulphate. |

Primatene is not pseudoephedrine. It's ephedrine HCl. However, those
tabs contain only 12.5mg instead of 25mg. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
