Default summer heat

Not being a big fan of the summer heat, I tend to suffer from heat related
headaches and sweat more weight in water than Ronnie Coleman dead lifts for
reps.

There's days that I can't drink enough liquids to replenish myself to keep from
getting the headaches. I'll have 1-2 coffee's throughout the day: 1 when I wake
up in the afternoons and another on the way to work in the evening around 9:30
pm. Other than that, the only other liquid that passes my lips is water and the
occasional ( I saw occasional because it's only 1 a week or so ) Powerade. I'll
drink some days 2 gallons of water.

Is there something that I could be drinking, or eating, on a more regular basis
to help replenish and keep me hydrated more to avoid such headaches? Maybe
change the times that I have my drinks? Fill up first thing with water instead
of the coffee?

First, ask your doctor about it. Otherwise, try eating more salt and/or
having more Powerade and/or more carbs - the idea being to retain more
water.

Coffee is dehydrating. Maybe other things in your diet are, too.

You don't mention some potentially important variables, e.g., if you're
overweight, dropping weight will very likely help with this.

Never thought about contacting a doctor about it because once the temperatures
cool off I am fine. Cooler weather and I can work from sun up to sun down with
no problems.

I try not to put salt into my foods unless it is naturally occurring. My carb
intake consists main't of noodles and rice and mostly apples, bananas and
oranges and carrots.

Yes i'm overweight... been that way my entire life.

I think you have your answer - focus on losing weight as the first order
of business, and improves in other areas will happen without any further
effort on your part.

When you do have a headache, does drinking water make it go away?
Or do you have to take a pain reliever to resolve it?

Which may actually be too much water which is flushing your system of
electrolytes.
Sweating too much puts stress on your body to cool itself.
Drinking too much water puts stress on your kidneys to work harder
which may
increase your blood pressure which makes you sweat more etc like a
vicious cycle with
a broken thermostat.

Heat intolerance can also be a sign of a thyroid problem. So it
wouldnt hurt to see a
doctor, have the blood pressure checked and a TSH test done.

I get a caffeine withdrawal headache if I dont have a morning coffee
(so yes hello I'm addicted!)
However, caffeine in coffee or other drinks are a stimulant, so they
can raise your blood pressure causing you to sweat more.
So try a day without caffeine and see what happens by only drinking
water. See if you get a withdrawal
headache or if you sweat less. Try drinking water only when thirsty,
cutting it back to like a gallon a day.

Someone mentioned losing weight - well you'd think that could be a
contributing factor, and it may be,
but I dont think it generally makes a difference. I know people who
are thin and sweat like crazy while others who are
overweight are dry as can be. Its an individual thing based on more
than just weight.

Not really.
The diuretic effects of caffeine are greatly over-stated. Even the
strongest coffee from Starbucks will produce a net hydrating effect. The
increased loss of fluid from caffeine is very small, and over 24 hours
disappears. If caffeine intake is constant (no increase from day-to-
day), the diuretic effect disappears after about a week (the body
develops a resistance to that effect, just like it does to the stimulant
effect).

Is very common to see caffeine hyped up for all sorts of negative
effects, but the research just doesn't bear those claims out, except for
extremely large dosages (at least 9mg/Kg body mass for most people), and
it is very difficult to ingest that much in a short enough amount of
time.
