The truth about six pack abs is too many people say they want a six
pack, but they really don't.
Because once they find out you actually have to work for it, and it
doesn't come in a pill or bottle, or from an ab belt.
They quit. Too many people in this country are lazy. And, we wonder
why we're the fattest nation on earth.
It's really not hard to get a six pack, or flat abs. The concept is
simple. To get flat, six pack abs:
1.Diet: You can dramatically reduce/lose your body fat just by cutting
or completely eliminating sugar (e.g. soda, junk food, etc.) A lot of
people think carbs is the culprit. While this maybe somewhat true,
it's also the excess sugar from coffee, juices, and again sodas in
their diets which makes you fatter.
Speaking of carbs, you still need it. Just eliminate or reduce refined
carbs (think brown, not white) and reduce or eliminate processed foods
(anything that comes out of a box or the typical Amercian diet)
Just by doing this alone you can get flat abs.
2. Cardio: Then, of course you have to cardio. But, too many people
continue to do the typical slow, even paced 30-45 min. cardio
routines. They do it b/c it's the "norm" and they've been programmed
to think that way, just like how they were programmed to think
crunches or sit ups is the best ab exercises ever created to get great
abs.
When in fact, the most effective cardio is high-intensity interval
training. This is based on research and personal experience.
Not only is interval training more effective at burning fat, but it's
also more fun to do. You're not just running on the treadmill like a
hamster with one eye glued to the clock wondering when this boring
slow even paced cardio will be over.
All you're really doing is sprinting, then you rest/recover, and
sprint again. Repeat.
3.Strength train/Weight lift: Next, you build muscle with strength
training b/c if you want to make your fat easier and faster to burn
off. Then build more lean muscle.
But, also if you strength train the right way you will be getting
cardio (burning fat) and building muscle (burning more fat) while
working your abs all at the same time.
4. Finally, you do a variety of ab exercises to strengthen your ab
muscles. So once you reduce your body fat and the lose the fat
covering your ab muscles. You'll reveal a defined, toned stomach.
And that's the reason why you still need the ab exercises b/c you want
definition in your abs. Otherwise, you'll be like a lot of skinny
people who even though they have very little to no body fat. They
still don't have a defined six pack. Instead they have a "flatter" and
softer midsection.
