Seems like insulin is the most important hormone of all where muscle
growth's concerned! Only positive effects (if you exercise) and no
bad ones at all! So why isn't there any insulin powders and pills??? |

So can steroids.
Obviously, in just the right amounts, insulin is good. Does the body
make all the insulin it needs? Then why isn't that said of steroids,
too?

Due to insulin resistance not eating a lot of carbs. I know this
because as a type 1 diabetic refined vegetable oils, bacon, and other
damaged fats cause my insulin requirements to go way up even though I
am eating less carbs. |

Really?
I have insulin resistance due to many many years of not knowing any
better and eating a lot of sugar and practically living on starch. I was
a major starch-a-holic.
I don't eat a lot of fat, but my primary diet is high protein and high
fiber (fresh and natural) carbs. What fat I do get is mostly Olive Oil,
some butter and the occasional indulgence in lime based mayo that I love
on Salads, including meat salads.
It appears to be reversing the problem. My fasting glucose has
stabilized back down to 88 to 90 mg/dl and my Hgb A1C stays right around
5.4.
And more importantly, my triglyceride levels used to run 600 to 800
mg/dl. Now they run 50 to 80 mg/dl.
I was headed straight into the arms of metabolic syndrome and type 2
diabetes, and probably cardiovascular disease.

A lot of high fat preserved meats (bacon, ham, sausage and many luncheon
meats) contain sugar. That might be what is happening here for him.
Boars Head brand is the only sugar free sausage and hot dog brand on the
market. Learn to read labels.
I bought a meat grinder/sausage stuffer right after last thanksgiving
and now make my own sausage. The beauty of doing that is that you can
also make it a helluva lot lower in sodium.
Sausage making URL's to follow. This was made with 1/2 turkey breast and
1/2 pork trimmings during the holidays when turkeys were $.69 per lb.
Learning how to cook can be a real blessing, and you don't even have to
stuff home made sausage into casings even tho' I prefer it. You can
simply freeze it in patties.
I bought some sheep casings the other day. My next sausage project is
going to be trying to learn to make my own frankenfurters. :-)
Cabela's also carries summer sausage casings, and spice mixes for ring
bologna. But, I'd prefer to make my own spice mix as it will be sugar
free and much lower in salt.

I am doing research by asking on MFW, half-shit.
Since a high insulin level is desirable for anabolic processes, the
natural question is why steroids has been the focus of muscleheadz and
not insulin.
I figured you drugged-up lot of steroid abusers here would know.

In a word?
Yes.
And far more effective.
I know a guy that died from insulin overdose.
It's one reason I'm so adamantly against abusing it.
I'd worked with him for 14 years. It was a great loss to all of us.
Oh, and he was thin as a rail. Not a well muscled person at all.

It means he's too ignorant to support his half of the debate...
Profanity is the futile effort of a feeble mind to express itself
intelligently.

I'd eat more fish if it was not so bloody expensive!
Fish oil capsules make me seriously nauseated. I know they are "good for
me" but nausea is just one thing I can't quite butch up to. ;-p
I do take flax seed oil. I was talking about food, not supplements. ;-)

Impossible to eat enough fish to really get the amount of EPA/DHA you need.

Flax will give you some EPA/DHA but how much depends on some variables.

That's all he's *ever* done. When he called himself "NYC XYZ,"
everyone eventually got tired of it, so he reappeared with a new
identity. It seems that everyone is *slowly* catching on again. |

Yeah, i was wondering about that too. The literary style is quite
different, though. Mind you, NYC XYZ's always struck me as an affectation.
