Anecdotal yadayada: As a child, I drank unpasteurized milk. My cousin's
father owned a dairy farm and we drank it right out the cow's teat (or
nearly so).

NOT DEAD YET!

After watching Rocky, Stallone's opus whatever, I could also be found
drinking raw eggs in an effort to add protein to my diet and, yeah, be
like the Rock of '76. I've since read that soft-boiled is the way to
go. Meh.

That can make you sick though. I don't know all the details but I
think the cow can pass along certain things through the milk.

One of them is TB, which thanks to vigorous governmental interference in
the marketplace, is now less common. Also (a cursory google search)
listeriosis, campylobacter, Escherichia Coli, Yersinia, you can probably
find others, but none of them are fun.
