    Everyone is different. George Burns was a very heavy smoker (actor who died
    at age 100) Others die young of lung cancer ---some who have never
    smoked (due to their own smoking or second hand smoke.)

    Smoking is also a dirty habit. It makes you smell as well as your clothes.
    Let's not forget the cost- wow. It also annoys most around you. It will also
    be the cause of more expensive health ins. It makes you less efficient at
    work and that and the effects on your health can cause you not to get
    hired. Quite a few employers feel this way as health ins. is already
    outrageously expensive.

    If you're a guy try sucking on a pipe. Guys and gals go for gum. Amazingly
    chewing gum has a few health benefits. Even if it has sugar in it it still helps
    to clean your teeth.

    You can get mega hooked on them any time. For guys it damages your
    sperm, for gals it causes birth defects especially slow and inadequate
    growth. It damages other parts of your innards too. The damage is NOT
    easily corrected if at all.

    Just straight up qutting and being peristent is the best way to quit smoking. It takes time but it is possible to break the habit and quit smoking.

    yes, a lot of smokers who want's to quit chews bubblegum or eat candies to replace cigarettes. Some chews nicotine gum, these bubblegum are specially made for people who smokes greater than 20 sticks a day.

    hello friends... nice discussion... i am also want to share something about it... if any one want to quit smoking..Start thinking of yourself as a non smoker...take a glass of plain water whenever your urge to smoke increases.... repeat this whenever necessary....use chewing gum instead of smoking and use the time exercising that you usually spend smoking... i read somewhere Pfizer has a new drug out, I think it's called Chantix, that has a really high success rate. It costs about $3 a day (about the cost of a pack of cigarettes) and you take it for 12 weeks......not sure but i read it...

    Also many people smoke because they just have an urge to put something in there mouth. it's just like gum, you want to always chew something. So to counter this you can put a toothpick in place instead. And if you want to stop that, slowly add a bad taste to it and it'll put you off.

    What if a gum or a glass of water does not help? I try to quit but such methods are useless for me...

    no one can help you for quit smoking rather than yourself.you can quit smoking with your self confidence and believe.yes chewing is a best way to quit smoking.you just make your mind busy and don't thing about smoking.i am sure it will be beneficial.

    All of you had heard this sentence very popularly that Smoking is Injurious to health. If anyone smoke regularly then it difficult for that to leave it but Chew gum is the best option than smoking either you want to leave or want to make an habit

    This is one of the best technique to quit smoking by making a regular habit to chew the chewing gum. Chewing is the best to clean your teeth and also it is not too expensive and should be a cleaner habit than smoking.
    lets is want to quit smoking, start a habit to chew a chewing gum regularly, it helps you a lot ......
